Kissena Park is a New York City (NYC) gem, located in Flushing, Queens, that is undiscovered! It is lovely year round. But, during the Fall it is something very special. Some of the most exotic species of trees in the world make this park a must see for tourists and locals alike.

Here is a little photo tour for you to experience the Fall Foliage at Kissena Park Lake...

Entering Kissena Park from the Oak and Rose Avenue entrance you can get a large view of the park.

To your immediate right is an upward path going along Rose Avenue.

Also, there is a playground offering children swings, slides and jungle gyms. Also, at the playground there is a large empty concrete area where little kids ride their tricycles, bicycles, and scooters.

Continuing along the entrance path will take you to the lake. You can go right or left along the path and take in all the beauty. Often, when I'm here I see couples sitting or standing along the lake just holding hands and enjoying nature. The lake is very peaceful.

There are all different kids of birds here, especially the mallards – the most familiar ducks at Kissena Park.

As you go around the path along the lake you will see another playground. It has a “swirly slide,” as my niece likes to say.
